Thirteen people, including a government employee and an alleged member of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Cotabato City, resulting in the confiscation of P381,000 worth of illegal drugs and other drug paraphernalia, firearm, and pieces of ammunition, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.
A drug den was also dismantled during the joint police and PDEA operation on April 25 at Rosales Street, T.V. Juliana Extension, Mother Barangay Rosary Heights, Cotabato City, PDEA Director General Aaron n. Aquino said.
He identified the suspects as Tanto Abubakar Datukali, alias Tanto Dimaukom/Bongoton, MILF member, and target of the drug operation; Faisal Manaloto Maruhom, Admin Aide III of the Department of Agrarian Reform-Region 12 (DAR-Region12); Mohamad Gani Lagantao, drug den caretaker; Solaiman San Lorenzo Gedtan, Junaiden Misuary Mantawil, Datucon Tan Jainal, Rodel Toan Budi, Dondon Repaso Martin, Sandra Mascod Samud, Nor Ain Lali Kanakan, Monaliza Camsa Omiron, Annie Abas Makapundag, and Faye Cuyamas Tulim, all drug den visitors.
Confiscated during the operation were suspected shabu weighing about 56.1 grams, with an estimated value of P381,000.00, assorted drug paraphernalia, six empty vials of Lidocane hydrochloride, or Epinephrine, one caliber 22 revolver loaded with six rounds of live ammunition, one Armscor box containing 11 rounds of cal. 22 live ammunition, one cal. 45 magazine loaded with two live ammunition, 11 rounds of 7.62 mm live ammunition, mobile phones, motorcycles, and the buy-bust money.
The suspects are facing charges for alleged violation of Republic Act 9165, or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Additional charge for violation of RA 10591 or illegal possession of firearms and ammunition was also filed against the drug den caretaker.
