Zamboanga town VM Pacalioga booted out for lying on SALN
The Office of the Ombudsman has dismissed former Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur Mayor and now Vice Mayor Nacianceno Pacalioga Jr. for falsification of official documents and serious dishonesty by deliberately omitting several real properties from his 2011, 2012 and 2014 Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs).
The Ombudsman voided Pacalioga’s retirement benefits and barred perpetually for reemployment in government.
Records showed that in the questioned SALNs, Pacalioga failed to declare 10 parcels of land located in different barangays of Dumingag.
Pacalioga claimed that he did not need to declare the real properties as he had already waived his rights over them in favor of the Dumingag United Subanen Association, Inc. and a certain Roel Dumayon prior to 2011.
But he Ombudsman found his documents questionable as the quit claims he presented did not mention any of the properties he did not declare.
The Ombudsman said “the records of this case clearly show that respondent deliberately failed to declare his ownership of the real properties in his 2011, 2012, and 2014 SALNs.”
“The incomplete declaration of respondent’s assets in his SALNs constitutes Falsification while his deceptive acts qualify as Serious Dishonesty,” it added. (PNA)
