Walang konsensya: Iligan diocese warns vs fake relief worker

Donors wanting to give aid to residents displaced by the fighting in Marawi will have to watch out for impostors claiming to be relief workers.

The Iligan diocese aired this warning after an encounter with the impostor, who it said is “just trying to get money.”

“There’s a person going around pretending to be part of the relief operation staff and even called our office inquiring if we’ve received the donations of so and so. He’s just trying to get money from you,” it said.

It added the impostor even claimed their wing-van containing relief items broke down.

Because of this, it said donors should send their money or relief items “directly to them or through the Diocese of Iligan or Prelature of Marawi.”
