VM Pulong Duterte: Don’t blame President for martial law in Mindanao
Blame the terrorists, not the President.
Davao City Vice Mayor Paolo “Pulong” Duterte posted on Facebook his frustrations over people who attacked the decision of his father, President Rodrigo Duterte to declare martial law in the whole Mindandao.
The President who was in Moscow for a state visit declared martial law after a firefight ensued between authorties and members of the Maute group, endangering the civilians in Marawi City on Monday.
“[D]o not blame the President for his decision to declare martial law in Mindanao when he is only reacting to the terrorism of the Maute group,” the vice mayor said.
Pulong called the attack of local Maute group who expressed support for the attacks of the Daesh (Islamic State) terrorists “an evil deed that needs to be addressed with an iron hand.”
He also assured the martial law under his father’s administration would be “far different” from the martial law of Marcos dictatorship.
So much comforting.
