Sana manalo! Tagum City successfully defends entries in Galing Pook awards
The city government of Tagum led by Mayor Allan Rellon has successfully defended its two entries for the Galing Pook Awards Programs.
The Tagum contingent presented its entries in an event in a hotel in Quezon City Wednesday, October 10.
The two Galing Pook programs include the Tagumpay Works of Public Education and Employment Service Office (PEESO)-Tagum and the merged programs Tagumpay Gulayan and Balik Sigla of the City Agriculture Office (CAO) and City Health Office (CHO), respectively.
“To secure 2 slots and to be included in the 19 finalists out of 152 entries is already a privilege and a blessing,” the local government unit (LGU) said.
It expressed hope that the Tagum programs will be declared as among the 10 best LGU practices in Philippines this year.
The Galing Pook Awards Program is a joint initiative of the Local Government Academy–Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Ford Foundation, and other individual advocates of good governance from the academe, civil society and the government.
