Rep. Mangudadatu rejects unlimited term for gov’t officials
Maguindanao 2nd District Rep. Zajid Mangudadatu said he is not in favor to “unlimited” term for government officials.
The Mindanaoan lawmaker also said that the vice president should be the successor to the president.
“Para sa akin kailangan ‘yung vice president ang mag-succeed,” he said in ANC interview on October 16.
Initially, the House of Representatives removed Vice President Leni Robredo in the line of succession in the proposed federal constitution.
But after strong criticisms from various quarters, the House agreed to restore the Vice President in the line of succession in the draft charter.
Mangudadatu also rejected the proposal to remove the term limits for senators, congressmen and local government officials.
“Ayoko ng unlimited term,” said Mangudadatu who will run for the Senate in the May 2019 elections.
