PDEA nabs North Cotabato re-elected village chairman due to illegal drugs
The anti-narcotics agents have arrested a re-elected barangay chairman during the implementation of a search warrant in North Cotabato Wednesday, May 16.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron N. Aquino said Melvin Fortajada, 48, was nabbed in Purok Narra, Barangay Malasila in Makilala town.
Fortajada was included in the PDEA’s narco-list or government officials allegedly involved in illegal drugs.
Seized during the operation were suspected shabu, weighing more or less three grams, with an estimated value of P20,400.00 and three pieces of .45 caliber live ammunition.
Fortajada will be charged for illegal possession of of illegal drugs and ammunition.
