PDEA exec says how Albay environment head was caught in pot session in Davao City; ka-frat ang pasimuno
No thanks to his fraternity brod, the head of Albay’s provincial environment office was caught in a pot session in Davao City earlier this week, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said.
Albay Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office officer-in-charge Benjamin Medel was arrested along with Davao-based surgeon Stephen So Tay in San Pedro village in Buhangin district.
Tay, son of the owner of a manufacturer of office equipment and furniture, is said to be Medel’s fraternity brod (http://davaotoday.com/main/politics/surgeon-caught-in-pot-session-with-albay-environment-chief/).
PDEA 11 officer-in-charge Naravy Duquiatan said their initial investigation showed Medel was in Davao City to attend a convention at SMX Lanang, at Tay’s invitation.
Seized from the two were nine grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) and a fragmentation grenade.
PDEA 11 legal officer Ben Joseph Tesiorna said Medel is a fraternity brother of Tay when they were still in college. He said the two were tested positive for drug use.
