PDEA chief sees improved anti-drug campaign in ARMM with new building, equipment
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron N. Aquino said he expects the anti-narcotics agents in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) to perform better their duties now that they have a new fully-equipped office.
Built with financial assistance by the United States Government through the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (USDEA) and the Joint Interagency Task Force West (JIATF), the new building with complete furniture, fixture and equipment was formally turned over to PDEA Tuesday, July 10.
“This new building serves as a morale booster to the personnel of PDEA ARMM, providing them with a safe working environment with equipment to aid them in their duties and responsibilities as front liners in combating the drug problem in their area of responsibility,” Aquino said.
“With the regional office building, I expect PDEA RO-ARMM to perform better its mandated duties and responsibilities of combating illegal drugs and their perpetrators in the region,” he added.
The building has a total cost of P39.75 million with furnitures, fixtures and equipment such as two 5000 Lumens Projectors, three 3200 Lumens Projectors, one 75KVA generator set, two units of 43 inches LED TV, one CCTV 10 channel system, five split-type aircon (2.0 horsepower), three floor mounted aircon inverter (5.0 horsepower), one audio visual system, 100 plastic chairs, 10 plastic tables, 20 executive chairs, 20 clerical chairs, and three clerical tables.
The building, standing on 236 square meters of land, is located in PC Hill, Barangay Rosary Heights 1, Cotabato City.
