PDEA arrests ex-barangay captain in Cotabato City anti-drug op
The anti-narcotics agents have arrested a former barangay chairman who ran as kagawad in the May 14 elections during the implementation of a search warrant in Cotabato City recently.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said the arrest of Alladin Darping on May 11 also resulted in the seizure of suspected shabu worth P102,000.00.
PDEA Director General Aaron N. Aquino said the 56 years old former barangay chairman was apprehended by the joint elements of PDEA Regional Office Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, 5th Special Force Batallion, Philippine Army (PA), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group ARMM (CIDG ARMM) and local police in Kapinpilan Mother Kalangalan, Cotabato City.
Seized during the operation were 83 pieces of heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected shabu, weighing more or less 15 grams, six pieces of BDO passbooks, assorted documents, and two identificatin cards.
Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect.
