Pastors tell Espenido after ending Parojinogs’ 40-year criminal reign in Ozamiz: Hulog ka ng langit
Police Chief Jovie Espenido has no remorse over the death of Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog because he deserved his fate.
“101 percent,” said Espenido when ANC’s Karen Davila asked him if Parojinog deserved to die.
“My conscience is clear, ang dami tao na na inano nila,” said Espenido said.
He said 41 pastors welcomed him as a godsend when he was transferred from Albuera, Leyte to their city last December.
He said they told him that they waited for 40 years to extricate the criminal scourge of the Parojinogs which started in the 1980s by patriarch Octavio Parojinog Sr. as an anti-communist militia but morphed into the criminal gang, Kuratong Baleleng, after he was killed in 1990 (shot by police for resisting arrest) and his sons Renato and Reynaldo took over.
“40 years sila naghintay, walang pulis na lumaban sa kanila. ‘Ikaw lang chief, ikaw lang hulog ng langit’. Ang gandang pakinggan, tao lang ako,” he said.
He encouraged the public cowering under criminal-minded mayors to be “prayer warriors.”
“Sa dasal, nothing is impossible,” he said.
