Makikiusap sa NPA: Kidapawan church forms panel for abducted cop’s release
The Catholic Church in Kidapawan will negotiate with the New People’s Army to negotiate the release of a police officer abducted last December.
Kidapawan Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo formed a negotiating panel to ensure the safe release of Senior Inspector Menardo Cui.
In an interview on Church-run DXND radio, Bagaforo said Cui, deputy police chief of President Roxas town in Cotabato, is alive and in the custody of the NPA in Cotabato province.
Heading the “crisis management team” is diocesan priest Pol Paracha, who is tasked to open communication lines with the NPA.
Cui was abducted last Dec. 28 at a KTV bar in Barangay Poblacion in President Roxas, North Cotabato. His wife Florelie succumbed to cancer due to depression Dec. 31.
