Lorenzana discusses with officials security situation in ARMM
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana attended a security and peace and order meeting of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) held in Zamboanga City Thursday, March 22.
Held at the Western Mindanao Command, the Defense chief graced the ARMM Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) and discussed the “current situation on security, peace and order in the ARMM, including the campaign against illegal drugs,” the region’s Bureau of Public Information (BPI) said.
This was the RPOC’s first regular meeting for this year.
The ARMM government has been cooperating with the national government in fighting the terrorist and lawless groups found in the region.
Also present in the meeting were Alexander Macario, assistant secretary for peace and order of the Department of Interior and Local Government; Lt.Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr., Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Western Mindanao commander; and ARMM officials such as Vice Governor Haroun Alrashid Lucman, Public Works Secretary Don Mustapha Loong, Executive Sceretary Laisa Alamia, Cabinet Secretary John Louie Balagot, and Interior and Local Government Secretary Noor Hafizullah.
Police Chief Supt. Graciano Mijares, Philippine National Police-ARMM director, presided over the meeting.
