LOOK: Assemblyman Zia Alonto Adiong says stray bullets now a norm even in Lanao del Sur capitol

Not even the supposed safe place for displaced families was spared by the ongoing battle in Marawi City.

Zia Alonto Adiong, an assembylman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, shared a photo of a radio reporter showing the auditor’s office windows at the provincial capitol shattered by stray bullets.

“Stray bullets are now recent occurrence in this area as fighting continues on its third week,” he said.

A number of families displaced by the ongoing firefight between military and Maute group members and local officials are staying inside the capitol complex.

“We wake up to this reality each morning and sleep at night praying that tomorrow will be safe,” Adiong added.

May Allah protect the people in Marawi.
