Girl power: Mayor Sara Duterte offers free baking lessons for Davao women
These tough women are out to make the softest, tastiest breads in the city.
Mayor Sara Duterte wants to make every Dabawenya as strong-willed and independent like her. She recently launched a program that allows senior citizens, persons with disabilities, victims of abuse, and poor women to enroll to a livelihood training in the city.
There, the ladies are taught the basics of baking which they can make as their new source of livelihood. It would also allow them to stand on their own to feet and make money for themselves.
“Empowered women can help stir the economic activities of our communities and it means employment, productivity, and livelihood,” Duterte said. Go girls!
