Filipina, Pakistani husband arrested in anti-drug operation in GenSan
A Filipina tagged as a financier of a major drug network and her Pakistani husband were arrested in an anti-drug operation in General Santos City on Monday.
Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 12 head Gil Cesario Castro identified the couple as Anjelie Osama, 30; and Shahzad Khan alias Salman Khan, 35.
Castro said their intelligence information showed the couple, deemed high-value targets, had been allegedly financing illegal drug-related activities in the city and neighboring areas.
They have been linked to the El Patron Drug Group, which he said is a “major drug network connected to groups operating in other regions.”
Seized from them during search operations in Purok Malakas in Barangay San Isidro past 2 a.m. were 10 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) worth P50,000, a ledger with bank deposit slips and assorted documents detailing supposed drug transactions.
