Duterte likes flying to Davao be ‘energized’: I’m all alone in Manila
President Rodrigo Duterte has revealed why he likes flying to Davao as often as he can even though his official residence is in Manila.
In a speech at the 17th founding anniversary of Digos in Davao Del Sur Friday (September 8), Duterte admitted that the rigors of the presidency have taken their toll on him.
“I no longer have the luxury of being at peace with myself. That’s why I would really fly to Davao because it’s only there that I get energized. In Malacañang, I’m all alone,” he said in Bisaya.
In jest, Duterte said he doesn’t like lingering in Malacañang– particularly at night– because of the ghosts which reportedly inhabit the place.
Duterte’s family members are all based in Davao City.
