DOJ Davao records 109 human trafficking victims in September 2017
The Department of Justice (DOJ) XI recorded 109 human trafficking cases filed before the court in the month of September in the entire region.
DOJ Assistant Regional Prosecutor lawyer Ritzel Polinar said that among the 109 cases, 15 were convicted, 1 were acquitted, 17 were dismissed, 5 were withdrawn, 13 were archived while 46 are still active.
Polinar said most of the victims were sexually exploited and were forced to work.
She added that their office have also recorded one child pornography case, of which the youngest victim was only 1 year old.
Polinar said that there were cases that the victims were brought to Davao from Surigao while some were from Davao and brought to Metro Manila.
