April 13 declared as holiday in ARMM to observe Lailatul Isra Wal Mi’raj
Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) Governor Mujiv S. Hataman has declared April 13 as a regular non-working holiday in the entire region.
This is to observe the Lailatul Isra Wal Mi’raj or Nocturnal Journey and Ascension of the Prophet Muhammad, which falls on the 27th day of the seventh lunar month of Rajab.
“As such, you are hereby enjoined to commemorate this religious event in a manner befitting said occasion,” said Memorandum Circular No. 1, series of 2018 issued on April 6 by the regional governor.
All line agencies, employees and private entities in ARMM are covered by the memorandum.
The observance of Lailatul Isra Wal Mi’raj is in pursuant to Presidential Decree 1083, otherwise known as the “Code of Muslim Personal Laws of the Philippines,” and Muslim Mindanao Act No.17. #
