Alma Moreno’s ex-hubby Fajad Salic nabbed for alleged Maute attack links
The former husband of actress-turned-politiko Alma Moreno, former three-term Marawi Mayor Fajad Salic, has been arrested for alleged connection to the Maute terror group’s attack on the city.
An ABS-CBN.com report late Wednesday (June 7) said that Salic was nabbed at a checkpoint in Barangay San Martin, Villanueva.
“Hinuli siya dahil may arrest order siya na pending na inisyu ng Department of National Defense…Iyung arrest order number 2 na kasali iyung pangalan niya, gawa nung rebolusyon na kaso sa Marawi incident,” regional police spokesman Supt. Lemuel Gonda was quoted as saying in the report regarding Salic’s arrest.
It can be recalled that President Rodrigo Duterte declared Martial Law in the entire Mindanao last May 23 after members of the ISIS-linked Maute occupied the city. Government troops are still trying to flush them out.
Salic, for his part, denied any involvement in the Maute attack.
“Wala po. Hindi pa nagsisimula yung kaguluhan sa Marawi nasa Maynila na ako,” he was quoted as saying.
The ex-politiko also expressed anger over what the terrorists have done to Marawi. “Sinong natibong taga-Marawi na hindi galit? Wala po kaming mabalikan doon.”
Moreno is a former Parañaque City Councilor. #
