AFP asks police to identify military general protecting VM Nova Parojinog
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) denied reports that a military officer was providing protection to the Parojinog clan’s illegal businesses in Ozamiz City.
AFP public affairs office chief Col. Edgard Arevalo made this statementamid claims that a former military general has a relationship with Ozamiz Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog and one of the family’s protectors.
Arevalo urged the police to identity the alleged military officer so that appropriate actions could be taken.
Nova is the daughter of slain Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog who was killed along with 14 others during an anti-drug operation in their family’s house in San Roque Lawis last July 30.
Her father was earlier pinpointed by President Rodrigo Duterte as one of the country’s top narco-politicians.
During the operation, the vice mayor was arrested along with brother Reynaldo Jr. They are now both at the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Arevalo stressed that the AFP was not tolerating such actions from any officers or enlisted personnel, and that sanctions await personnel found collaborating with illegal drug syndicates or crime gang for that matter. (PNA)
