TF Bangon Marawi: 500-600 temporary shelter by December

Some 500 to 600 temporary shelters are being eyed for completion in Barangay Sagongsongan in Marawi City by December despite inclement weather, Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) said.

Felix Castro Jr., TFBM field office manager, said the National Housing Authority is supervising five private contractors working on the pre-fabricated houses.

“(The Department of Public Works and Highways) has said that there might be delays, especially because of the weather. But it’s not going to take a long time. I think within November, the road network works will be completed,” Castro said.

He added heavy equipment from the DPWH’s provincial engineering districts have been redeployed to the area to work overtime for the road network.

But reports added many construction workers are leaving due to low pay, while construction materials are delayed.
