399 Mautes >93 soldiers: AFP bares casualty report a week before end of martial law
The Armed Forces of the Philippines reported a 4 to 1 kill ratio in favor of the government as of the 53rd day of war in Marawi City.
AFP spokesperson Gen. Restituto Padilla said 399 Maute terrorists have been killed while 93 soldiers have perished in the fighting since May 23
Padilla also reported that 502 firearms have so far been recovered from Maute group.
He claimed that the lawless elements had executed 45 civilians while government troopers rescued 1,713 individuals.
Fighting broke out in Marawi City after government troops tried to arrest Abu Sayyaf leader Isnilon Hapilon and ISIS “emir” in Southeast Asia last May 23. President Rodrigo Duterte declared a 60-day martial law in Mindanao on the same day. (Priam F. Nepomuceno/PNA)
