Pacquiao fully supports Duterte’s drug war but he draws the line on slaughtering the innocent

Senator Manny Pacquiao on Tuesday said that he fully support the war on drugs of President Rodrigo Duterte but “not the senseless killings” of drug suspects.

The Pambansang Kamao also condemned the “brutal” killing of senior high school student, Kian Loyd delos Santos, 17, during a drug operation in brgy. 160 in Caloocan City on August 15.

“Kian was only Grade 11. Kian was just 17 years old. That was a senseless killing of a minor. Even President Duterte said that if police murdered Kian delos Santos, they will rot in jail,” he said.

“Saludo po ako sa mga matitinong police enforcers ngunit galit nag alit ako sa mga pulis na umaabuso ng kanilang kapangyarihan at pumapatay ng mga inosenteng mamamayan,” Pacquiao said.

He added, “I fully support the war on drugs but not at the expense of the rule of law. It is our moral duty to uphold the principle of due process.”
